Can we go to Toys R Us now?

Cades first surgery, and hopefully his last. We spent Friday morning at the doctors having tubes placed in Cades ears, and Adenoids and nasal polyps removed. Yikes! But he was such a trooper. He was emotional once we got there, that was expected, we did promise him we would go to Toys R Us afterwards, so for the most part he held it together...until the nurse asked us to change him into the patient gown. That was out of the question; even putting on the patient ID band was traumatic. She finally gave him the versed, trust me it only took 10minutes and he was the goofiest & happiest kid ever. He was on cloud 9...giggling randomly, pointing and laughing at nothing, and what he thought was funniest- breaking all the crayons the nurse gave him.


By the time they took him back he was basically gone. The surgery itself took about 1 hour. But everything went great. When we went back to see him all he would say is "Can we go to Toys R Us now?", then he fall back asleep, and anytime after when he would wake up he would ask us again. Yes we did take him to Toys R Us later that day. So we were all happy! But the best news is Cade will be hearing and breathing a lot better now. We're all happy. (Although now he snores like a horse :)
